—
Let’s Call It Water
Held still for bliss —
a moment too long.
Hair spills off my shoulders
liquid, tarred gold.
I wake
to the stains
of ephemeral love.
A tidal force
claiming the moon.
Two silver coins,
heart-shaped and lean.
A passageway —
one last crossing of the sea.
Head or Tails?
Fate calls —
and I surrender.
Forgive
the unripe fruit
of confusion.
I remain tender
despite the illusions.
It’s covered, lover —
let’s call it water.
